Dia AI Browser Now Open To Everyone On macOS: Here’s What You Can Do With It

After months of invite-only access, The Browser Company has finally made its AI-powered browser, Dia, available to everyone on macOS. If the name sounds familiar, that’s because this is the same company that once built and even later shut down the popular Arc browser. With Dia, they’re back, but with an AI browser. What makes it different? The company explains that Dia looks and feels like a regular browser that we use on a daily basis; however, but the main fact is that it works alongside you. Instead of moving between several tabs or copying text into a chatbot like ChatGPT, you can simply chat with Dia right inside the tab you’re using. Ask it to summarise a document, pull out key details, or even draft a reply to an email – all without leaving your current page. Dia Comes With Built-In Skills

Dia comes with a growing list of Skills – shortcuts for common AI-powered actions like summarising articles, fact-checking content, outlining projects, or even generating study flashcards from lecture notes. It’s a small but handy set of tools that make the browser more of a smart workspace than just a window to the web. The Browser Company says it plans to ship weekly updates, with new features on the way. Some of Arc’s “greatest hits” are also being redesigned for Dia, ensuring that fans of the earlier browser don’t feel left behind. 

Dia Browser Plans And Compatibility

Dia is free to download and use on macOS 14 or later, but there’s a small catch: it only works on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 chip or newer).

The free plan gives you access to all AI tools with some usage limits. For heavy users, there’s a Pro plan priced at $20/month, which offers unlimited chat and full access to memory and personalisation features. You can try it out for 14 days before committing.
