What’s New: Who Needs To Verify and How

First off, if you’re updating your profile to a recruiter-related title-like “Recruiter” or “Talent Acquisition Specialist”-LinkedIn will now ask you to verify your workplace. And it’s the same for executive roles such as Vice President or Managing Director. You’ll need an official company email address to complete this verification. If you already have those titles, you’re not affected for now, but any new additions will have to go through it. news Also Read: LinkedIn Will Use Your Data For AI Training From November 3: How To Disable It

Tips And Tricks To Stay Away From Job Scams On LinkedIn

If you’re actively job hunting or networking on LinkedIn, you need to be a little cautious. Here’s how:

  • Start by paying attention to who you’re connecting with. If a recruiter or executive reaches out, take a moment to check their profile.
  • Avoid job postings that don’t provide sufficient details or prompt you to move the conversation to WhatsApp or Telegram immediately – that’s a red flag.
  • When applying for roles, check whether the job poster or company has a verification badge. It doesn’t guarantee everything, but it does show that LinkedIn has verified their identity.
  • Also, keep your profile settings updated and use LinkedIn’s job filters to narrow results to verified listings – it saves time and reduces risk.
  • And finally, don’t ignore those security features. Things like two-step verification, passkeys, and adding a backup email are crucial.
