WhatsApp
WhatsApp is always working on some or the other feature to enhance the user experience on the platform. The app is once again working on improving the way people chat by experimenting with threaded replies. The instant-messaging app is widely used by billions of users worldwide for both professional as well as personal communication. While the interface is simple and clean, there’s one feature that has always caused trouble is losing track of messages in fast-moving conversations.
That’s the reason WhatsApp is working on its upcoming feature of thread replies, attempting to bring more order to the group and individual chats.
As per report by WABetaInfo, a website responsible for tracking new WhastApp features, reported about app’s new feature currently being tested on the beta version for Android. Rather than scrolling endlessly to trace a reply, now users will be able to see responses grouped neatly under the original message.
This setup is already familiar to those who use platforms like Slack or Discord, and it will likely make WhatsApp’s chat experience more professional and user-friendly.
When this upcoming thread replies feature will be enabled on WhatsApp, the message will automatically generate a thread beneath it. In addition, there will be a follow-up discussions connected to that specific text will appear in a structured timeline.
This will allow users to continue responding inside the thread and those replies will be internally marked as ‘Follow Up’ replies. Nevertheless, this tag exists, it won’t be visible to everyone, ensuring that the overall experience feels natural.
The feature is currently available to some beta testers who downloaded the latest version from the Google Play Store. The Meta-owned company is yet to announce the official rollout timeline, however, it will be based on the feedback and refinements by the community. If introduced widely, threaded replies could reduce clutter in busy chats and bring a smoother, more organised experience for billions of WhatsApp users.
