WhatsApp keeps on bringing features on its platform that are always music to the ears of users worldwide. The meta-owned platform not only includes features that are helpful in many ways but are also exciting to use. Recently, the instant messaging app has seamlessly integrated a feature for music enthusiasts. However, the feature is still in the beta phase, but some users can get a hold of it if they are registered under the WhatsApp beta program.
Now users can share music from Spotify in status updates to a future update of the app. Currently, the feature is under development and is not ready for beta testers. However, you can get hold of the preview. The feature will allow users to browse Meta’s extensive music catalog. This will be the same library that is accessible on Instagram.
Now, users will be able to search for songs, artists, or trending tracks. These songs will enhance your status updates. The latest update is available under Whatsapp beta for Android 2.25.8.3 update. The update is available on the Google Play Store. He update will allow you to directly share music from Spotify to your status updates. Additionally, you can also send it as a message to your contacts or group chats.
The feature is similar to Instagram’s feature of sharing music on stories. Whenever you share a music on your Instagram story, you see a preview that includes artist name, album cover, song title, and a button that redirects you to Spotify. The tech giant will add a “Play on Spotify” button on WhatsApp that will allow users to open the song directly on Spotify.
Talking about the privacy feature, Wabetainfo, a website that keeps a track of upcoming WhatsApp features says, “Since status updates are protected by WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption, only the intended recipients will be able to view the shared content. As a result, neither WhatsApp nor third parties can see which songs have been posted in a user’s status update. This makes status updates a secure way to share music-related content privately with your audience.”
