WhatsApp is most probably working on a new feature that will allow users to generate AI-powered profile pictures. As per the report published by WABetaInfo, the latest feature will allow users to create unique and personalized profile photos with AI in the background.
The feature is slowly being rolled out for a few users in the beta stage. The publication has also shared a screenshot to reveal that some of the best testers are already testing the feature. Nonetheless, one thing you should know is that the use of the feature is limited to only group icons. In simple terms, the users will not be able to create AI-generated profile pictures for their personal accounts.
As for creating the image, the users can simply add a description for the image they want and then the AI will create a custom-made for the group profile picture. The feature can also offer theme-based generation options as well.
According to the reports, the feature has been showing up on the stable version of the application as well even for those who have not enrolled in the beta testing programme. This could mean that we could soon get to see the feature for the stable version of WhatsApp as well. However, there is no word regarding the launch of the feature for the iOS app.
Apart from the mentioned feature, WhatsApp has recently rolled out voice message transcripts in India. The feature used on-device processing to generate a text transcript of a voice message received by the user. As of now, Hindi is not available on the application as a transcript language. However, WhatsApp officials have announced that they will be adding more languages to the feature in the near future.
