WhatsApp always brings new features to enhance the user experience on its platform. Wabetainfo, a website responsible for tracking new and upcoming WhatsApp features, reported that the Meta-owned app is currently working on a new update to enhance WhatsApp status updates, making them more interactive and engaging. The company has introduced a ‘Question Sticker’ feature in its Android beta version 2.25.29.12, enabling users to post questions directly in their status updates.
In the latest beta version, WhatsApp is introducing the ability to add a question box to a status update. The feature will be more like we have on the Instagram ‘Ask Me Anything’ feature. As per the report, users will now be able to ask questions to their friends, family members, and loved ones. This will transform a simple status into an interactive conversation.
Some beta testers can already try this feature on WhatsApp on Android, and more users will be getting the feature in the coming weeks. The tech giant is gathering feedback to improve its functionality.
With the new update, WhatsApp users will include one question sticker per status update, and followers, friends, and family members can directly type their answers in the box. The replies will go straight to the person who posted the question and remain private.
WhatsApp has also included an option to share interesting answers as new status updates while keeping the respondent’s identity hidden, maintaining both engagement and privacy.
As soon as the user sees a status with a question, they will see a text box inviting them to answer or respond. After typing their answer, they will be able to send it personally to the status owner. The feature is currently in testing mode, so it may be possible that the feature is not yet supported on some app versions.
Currently, the feature is available for some beta testers using WhatsApp version 2.25.29.12 on Android. The company will soon come up with the wider release after receiving valuable feedback from the users.
