The Meta-owned instant messaging app, WhatsApp, continues to evolve with a host of new features and updates. These features are aimed at bringing an innovative user experience and enhancing the messaging experience. The tech giant recently brought several updates and new features that will enhance the overall messaging experience on the platform. These features include Live Photos, Motion Photos, Meta AI-powered chat themes, new sticker packs, document scanning on Android, and more.
Share Live Photos and Motion Photos
One of the standout features recently added to WhatsApp is the support of Live Photos on iOS and Motion Photos on Android. Both features allow users to now click a few seconds before and after pressing the shutter button. The feature will also allow users to capture both sound and motion.
Custom Chat Themes with Meta AI
WhatsApp has also integrated Meta AI to bring personalized chats a new experience. Users can use simple prompts and can generate custom chat themes. In addition, they can also change the design backgrounds for video calls.
Other than this, you can now even create images and backgrounds for photos and videos shared within the chats. Currently, these AI features are available in selected languages, including English, Arabic, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese.
New Sticker Packs
To make the chatting experience more expressive and fun, WhatsApp has also introduced new sticker packs. These packs include Fearless Bird, School Days, or Vacation stickers, reflecting your current mood and situation.
Enhanced Group Search and Document Scanning
The group search functionality is also improved, and hence, users can now find group chats even if they forget the exact name of the group; they can still search for someone who is part of the group.
WhatsApp has rolled out document scanning for Android users, allowing them to scan, crop, save, and share their documents directly within WhatsApp. The feature was previously only available to iOS users.
