Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that Threads has now more than 100 million daily active users. Zuckerberg mentioned the numbers in his latest Thread post where he says, “Threads strong momentum continues — now 300M+ monthly actives and 100M+ daily actives.” This is the first time when Meta has released the daily active user data publicly. The company also witnessed 300 million monthly active users which is up from the 275 million monthly active users in November.
To recall, Threads was launched in July 2023 in order to capitalize on the millions of users who were leaving X after Elon Musk bought the platform. Threads has now become one of the biggest text-first social media platforms with over 100 million daily active users. The company has earlier released the monthly active users, but this is the first time when it’s released the daily active users.
The company is in tough competition with its rival social network BlueSky which claims to have over 25 million users but Instagram head Adam Mosseri says that Threads is still much bigger. Adam mentioned the millions of signups that the company registered in November. The company has witnessed more than 15 million signups in November alone, as per Mosseri.
Meta has always been very outspoken about the growth of Threads and the millions of users it’s gaining every month. One of the most interesting features that BlueSky has and Threads doesn’t is the DM. This is one of the key advantages that BlueSky has over Threads right now. However, Meta is exploring the possibility of adding the DM feature on Threads.
