
If you use Google Chrome on your computer, it’s time to hit that update button. India’s cyber security agency, CERT-In, has flagged multiple high-risk vulnerabilities in Chrome for desktop that could leave your system open to hackers.
According to the vulnerability note CIVN-2025-0204, dated September 8, 2025, the warning applies to Chrome versions older than 140.0.7339.80/81 on Windows and Mac, and older than 140.0.7339.80 on Linux. If you’re running one of these, your browser may be at risk.
According to CERT-In, the flaws could let cybercriminals remotely break into your system just by luring you to a malicious website. Hackers could use these flaws to steal your personal data, mess with your system, or even take over your device completely.
Put simply, if your Chrome isn’t updated, a hacker could trick you into clicking a link and then run their own code on your computer.
