It was a tiring task if someone had to update even a small detail in their Aadhaar card. The hassle of long queues, paperwork, and multiple visits, now everything can be halted with the new e-Aadhaar app. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is all set to unveil a new mobile application called e-Aadhaar, designed to make Aadhaar updates as simple as a few taps on your smartphone.

The e-Aadhaar app is slated to launch by the end of 2025, maybe somewhere in November. The app promises to transform how users manage their Aadhaar information.

Here’s What We Know About the e-Aadhaar App

What is the e-Aadhaar App?

The e-Aadhaar app is launching soon with a one-stop solution for all Aadhaar-related updates. Instead of visiting an enrollment center for basic changes, now Indian users will be able to update key information such as address, name, date of birth, mobile number, and more directly from the app.

Nevertheless, biometric updates like fingerprint and iris scans will still require physical verification at designated centers. Still majority of requests can be handled via the e-Aadhaar app, which helps in reducing both paperwork and travel.

AI, Face ID, and Enhanced Security

One of the most striking features that’s going to be integrated in the upcoming e-Aadhaar app will be Artificial Intelligence and Face ID Technology. This will enable fast logins and reduce reliance on OTP or passwords.

Automatic Document Verification

Additionally, the e-Aadhaar app will also streamline the verification process by automatically fetching supporting documents from verified government databases. These documents will include birth certificates, PAN cards, passports, driving licenses, ration cards, and MNREGA records.

For address changes, even electricity bills could be accepted as proof.

Availability and Launch Timeline

The e-Aadhaar app is expected to roll out by late 2025. Once launched, it will be available for download on both Android and iOS platforms, offering equal access to urban and rural users.
