Google will most probably launch the Android 16 operating system by the third quarter of 2025. And a lot of features related to the same have been already showcased in the Android 16 beta 3 update. Google has been working on multiple features which we will get to see in the Android 16 update this year. A major one out of the lost is the transparent notifications lock that will enhance the look of your lock screen.
Apart from that, the new beta update has brought a new feature similar to the iPhone’s battery health monitoring system highlighting the battery health of Pixel phones along with articles based on how one can slow down the battery aging. In addition, Google is also looking to revamp the Android status bar with new icons along with a dynamic battery indicator that changes according to the amount of battery left in the phone. The feature has been spotted by Mishaal Rahman in a report for Android Authority.
Android 16 battery indicator modification details
The fresh battery indicator has been in development for at least a year. It was previously expected to go live with the Android 15 operating system. But, Google held it back to improve it more. Now, it is being said that the feature will be introduced with Android 16, in later stages.
As seen in the screenshot shared by the report, the battery indicator by Google will have three colors – white: your phone has sufficient battery and it’s not charging, red: your phone is low on battery and needs to be charged, green: your device is on charging.
And yes, the text of battery percentage also appears to be bolder as compared to the current one we get to see. The new status bar has not been revealed in the Android 16 Beta 3 until now.
Currently, nothing can be said with full certainty until the feature is introduced. Readers are suggested to wait until the tech giant officially releases the feature because the report also said that the same could get delayed until the Android 17 OS release as well.
