New leaks point toward two fresh designs along with some smart AI features, making these upcoming glasses a major upgrade. Next-gen Ray-Ban Meta Glasses 

According to a post shared by the XR Research Institute, the upcoming Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses will come in two separate models. The first one is codenamed Aperol, which is the sunglasses variant, and the other is Bellini, which could be perfect for those who want smart glasses with prescription lenses.

This clearly shows that Ray-Ban is trying to develop different glasses to suit different types of users, rather than offering a one size fits all solution. The sporty sunglasses frame could be ideal for outdoor adventures, while a regular prescription-style frame might suit someone like a student who wants the fun of AI in their everyday eyewear.

The new successor is also rumored to offer significantly longer battery life, which could solve one of the biggest pain points in current-gen smart eyewear. Not only that, but the glasses are also expected to get a big upgrade with a new sensing mode that could allow Live AI features to run for hours. Some other expected AI features include real-time object recognition, scene detection, and enhanced Live AI for voice-powered tasks.

Launch Timeline

The leak suggests that the launch could happen in late 2025. To recall, Meta recently collaborated with Oakley and launched the new sporty Oakley Meta Glasses in June. So, Meta might take a bit more time with Ray-Ban to launch the successor, especially since this time around, fans are expecting a lot from the new AI-powered glasses.
