TRAI is bringing 90 days validity to all the users; Here are all the details

The Telecom and Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has introduced new rules under which the telcos have to offer a validity of 90 days.

TRAI or the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has introduced new rules for the validity of SIM to make it more beneficial for users. According to the new rules, the unused SIM cards of the users will be available for a longer period of time. TRAI’s impact on telcos in India

Starting with Vi, the telecom company has introduced a grace period of 90 days without spending any money on the recharge. After the mentioned period, the users will have to recharge their number with a minimum plan of Rs 49 to keep the number activated. news Also Read: TRAI's new mandate asks telcos to introduce SMS and call only plans

Similarly, all the Airtel users will also have 90 days of validity without any recharge. Users will also get a 15-day grace period to reactivate their number. The Jio SIM users will also get the facility to keep their SIM card active for 90 days without any recharge. After the mentioned period, the users will be supposed to have a reactivation plan. In the time of 90 days, the incoming call facilities may vary for a month depending on their last recharge. If the users don’t recharge the number after 90 days, then the number will be dropped in the market for sale to new users.

BSNL is again topping the charts in terms of providing validity as compared to other brands as the brand is offering a 90-day validity if the user has at least 20 rupees of prepaid balance on their number. And after the 90 days, the mentioned Rs 20 will be deducted to extend the SIM’s activations for an additional 30 days as well. Now, if the balance for the same is insufficient then the SIM will be deactivated and ready for sale again in the market.
