BSNL is all set to revolutionize India’s telecom landscape with its 4G services across the country. The telecom operator is slated to launch its 4G services on September 27, 2025. The announcement was made by A. Robert J Ravi, Chairman, and Managing Director of BSNL, during the Bharat Digital Infra Summit 2025.
BSNL official social media post says, “Get ready, Bharat! On 27th September, BSNL transforms the way India connects. A new chapter of Swadeshi Digital Bharat begins.”
To recall, BSNL has already initiated the 4G services in Delhi-NCR. The services are rolled out through a partner network, allowing users to access the high-speed network using their existing BSNL SIM cards.
In addition, BSNL, along with MTNL, is also offering 4G SIM cards via their customer service centers and authorized retailers. BSNL users can grab the SIM cards after completing their eKYC verifications.
BSNL has also invested Rs 25,000 crore to support the ambitious 4G plans, installing 100,000 mobile towers across India. The telco has also planned to initiate 100,000 more towers to be planned in the near future. The state-run operator also partnered with TCS and C-DOT for network equipment.
Other than this, there is an investment of an additional Rs 47,000 crore to further strengthen infrastructure. BSNL aims to provide and improve coverage, network speed, and reliability for both urban and rural users.
BSNL is rolling out 4G services across India at a time when the country is already looking toward the plans for 6G technology. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted plans to make India the first country globally to deploy 6G services.
BSNL’s rollout on the 700 MHz spectrum, unique among Indian telecom operators, positions the company as a key player in both current and future telecom developments.
