Tech giants are gearing up for major smartphone launches this September 2025, including ultra-thin flagships, powerful mid-rangers, and special editions. Let’s dive into the most anticipated releases.
Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 17 series will make its debut in the second week of September, following the iPhones’ usual launch cycle. The base iPhone 17 model is expected to bring some major upgrades, in terms of performance, over the iPhone 16. The iPhone 17 is said to feature a 120Hz display and A19 chip.
Apple is rumoured to launch its thinnest iPhone yet – the iPhone 17 Air – this September. It is expected to feature a 6.6-inch OLED panel with 120Hz ProMotion technology, a single 48MP rear camera, and A19 chip. It could measure between 5.5mm-6mm in thickness and sport an elongated horizontal camera bar on the rear.
The iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to bring major upgrades in terms of design and performance. Both the Pro and Pro Max could feature a horizontal camera bar, housing the three rear cameras – all capped at 48MP resolution. The flagships will run on A19 Pro chip.
Motorola is launching the Razr 60 in a Pantone Ice Melt colourway, embedded with Swarovski crystals, in India on September 1. Internally, it will carry the same hardware as the regular Razr 60, including a 6.9-inch pOLED foldable display, a 3.63-inch pOLEd cover screen, MediaTek Dimensity 7400X chip, 50MP + 13MP rear camera setup, and 4,500mAh battery.
Indian smartphone maker Lava is expected to launch the Agni 4, which succeeds the Lava Agni 3. The latter launched in October last year, suggesting that the Lava Agni 4 could launch in September-October timeframe – right ahead of the Diwali festive season. The Agni 4 is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset.
