On the camera front, it has a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens + 50MP wide-angle lens + a 10MP telephoto lens at the rear and a 12MP camera for selfies. It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery and it runs Android 14-based OneUI 6.1.
Samsung announced that it will provide 7 years of security updates and 7 years of OS generations starting with the Galaxy S24 series.
At the event Samsung announced a partnership with Google to introduce Circle to Search. Samsung says that with a long press on the home button, users will be able to circle, highlight, scribble on, or tap anything on Galaxy S24’s screen to see helpful, high-quality search results. This feature will be available on all the three models of the Galaxy S24 series.
The highlight of tonight's launch was the Galaxy AI that is powered by Google's Gemini LLM model. Galaxy AI powers a bunch of AI-based features in the S24 series, which includes Live Translate, Interpreter, Chat Assist and Note Assist to name a few.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 starts at $799 (Rs 66,452 approximately), while the Galaxy S24 Plus starts at $999 (Rs 83,086 approximately). On the other hand, the Galaxy S24 Ultra starts at $1,299 (Rs 1,08,037 approximately).
Samsung also unveiled Galaxy Ring tonight. However, it did not share any further details about the wearable.
