
Xiaomi is rolling out HyperOS on select Redmi phones in India. The update brings a revamped user interface and a few new features. The latest devices to get the update are Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G. Notably, new Xiaomi phones are launching with HyperOS out of the box.
Redmi’ Note 13 5G series is getting the HyperOS update, replacing MIUI 14. However, it’s to be noted that HyperOS is based on top of Android. That said, users can enjoy both Android 14 and HyperOS features with this update.
If you own a Note 13 5G smartphone, you should receive a notification for the update. But if you don’t get an alert, you can manually update through Settings > Software update.
As soon as you update, you will see an updated notification centre, followed by some design changes throughout the UI. HyperOS also brings a fresh new lock screen with customization options. It also adds Mi Sans font. HyperOS supports more than 200 processor platforms and over 20 standard file systems. It is compatible with device RAM sizes between 64KB to 24GB. Also, unlike MIUI, It’s light and occupies less than 9GB of storage on a device.
Other than the Note 13 5G series, the following are the other devices that are eligible to receive the update in Q2 (April – June) of this year.
Redmi K50i, Redmi Note 11 series, Redmi 13C series, Redmi 12, Redmi 11 Prime, and Redmi Pad. Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge, Xiaomi 11T Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, and Mi 10 will also get the feature. The following devices have already received the update – Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi Pad 6, and Redmi Note 12 series phones.
Other than Xiaomi and Redmi-branded devices, Poco phones are also getting the HyperOS update.
Eligible Poco phones that will receive HyperOS update include the Poco F4, Poco X6 Neo, Poco M6, Poco M4 Pro, and Poco C65. The following Poco phones already have received the latest user interface – Poco F5, Poco X6 Pro, Poco X6, Poco X5 Pro, Poco X5, Poco M6 Pro, and Poco M4 5G.
New Xiaomi phones are coming with HyperOS out of the box. HyperOS has officially replaced MIUI for good. Xiaomi made the new software skin for all of its products, so it’s not just restricted to smartphones like MIUI. Upcoming Xiaomi products such as gadgets, accessories, and even EVs will have HyperOS compatibility.
