Xiaomi is all set to give its tablet lineup a refresh with the upcoming Pad 8 series, expected to launch later this month alongside the Xiaomi 17 smartphones. While the company hasn’t locked in a date yet, pre-reservations are already open in China through Xiaomi Mall, where buyers can secure a unit for just CNY 1. According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, the Pad 8 Pro will arrive with an 11.2-inch LCD panel and a sizable battery that supports 67W fast charging. Under the hood, the tablet will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM. The device will ship with HyperOS 3, Xiaomi’s custom skin based on Android 16. A Xiaomi device with the model number 25091RP04C recently showed up on Geekbench. Believed to be the Pad 8 Pro, it posted solid numbers – 2831 in single-core and 9260 in multi-core tests. Those scores put it right in line with other devices running Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which means the tablet should have plenty of power for gaming, multitasking, and productivity alike. The Pad 8 Pro is being designed with work in mind too. Reports suggest it will come with PC-like features such as an improved split-screen layout, a desktop-style browser, and built-in support for popular productivity apps like WPS, CAJ, and CAD. Moreover, Xiaomi is said to working on a new keyboard accessory and an upgraded stylus to turn the tablet into a more versatile device for both professionals and students.
Xiaomi partner and brand president Lu Weibing is scheduled to host a livestream on September 19 at 7 PM CST (5:30 AM IST, September 20) to discuss the upcoming Xiaomi 17 series. There’s a chance he may also drop fresh details about the Pad 8 lineup.
