Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its next ultimate flagship. The Xiaomi 16 is set to be a true beast, bringing huge upgrades in terms of performance and battery. Tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed some key details about the Xiaomi 16, and it clearly shows that the brand is ready to compete for the performance crown this year.
The Xiaomi 16 is expected to get a solid upgrade in terms of performance. The flagship might come with Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line offering and will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. Qualcomm is expected to unveil the chip in September 2025, and Xiaomi might once again be the first to launch a phone with it later this year.
On the camera front, there’s no major change. The Xiaomi 16 might stick with a triple 50MP setup seen in last year’s flagship. That said, we can expect improvements in image output thanks to better optimisation. The camera will likely be co-branded with Leica, featuring all the usual Leica tuning. Sticking with the same hardware suggests Xiaomi has been focusing on post-processing this time to push photo quality even further. It’s an interesting move and honestly, if it ain’t broke, why fix it?
Coming to the battery life, a leak reveals that the Xiaomi 16 packs over 6,500mAh, a major jump from the 5,400mAh found in the Xiaomi 15. Xiaomi might also tweak the design this time, as new renders hint at a dual-tone back panel.
The Xiaomi 16 launch date is still under wraps, but we’re likely to see it drop by the end of this year. Expect the vanilla Xiaomi 16 to get a global release, while the Xiaomi 16 Pro will probably stay China-exclusive. This most likely follows the same strategy Xiaomi used with the 15 series.
