Snapchat just launched a dedicated app for Apple Watch users, and it makes it easier to reply straight from your wrist. The app allows users to make quick messages and send simplified responses. It’s not a full-blown app, so users can’t send or view snaps. Also Read: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus Lose Higher Storage Variants After iPhone 17 Launch
The new Apple Watch app lets users view and respond to incoming chats right from their wrist. Users can simply use the watch keyboard, voice dictation, or tap on an emoji. It’s a compact version of Snapchat that keeps the conversations going, without the need for a phone. This could be great for those who want to stay connected but also want some time off their social media life. Snapchat announced the rollout, and the new app will be available for download. Users will just need to pair their existing account and use Snapchat on the go. For those interested, Snapchat on Apple Watch works on Apple Watch Series 4 or newer and runs on WatchOS 9 and above.
Simply, users can download this app from the store and just enable Snapchat notifications on their Apple Watch. Then, make sure to check the Watch app on your phone to confirm that Snapchat is selected under the “Mirror iPhone Alerts From” section to ensure notifications are delivered directly to the watch. Once the app is set up on the watch, you’ll start receiving notifications for chat text messages.
This new app is not a full-fledged Snapchat experience. Users can’t send snaps, view stories, or open snaps from others. Right now, it’s more of a companion app for chats and not a replacement for the main mobile experience. Maybe future updates will bring the capability to at least open Snaps and access the full app through your wrist alone.
So, if you’re someone who likes to leave their phone behind while working out at the gym or heading out for a quick meeting without it, this new app can be a saviour. The ability to check messages and respond directly from your wrist adds another layer of convenience to how you use Snapchat daily.
