Samsung might be gearing up to finally bring an affordable foldable to the market. Alongside the expected Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, we might see a more budget-friendly version of the clamshell-style foldable debut at this year’s Galaxy Unpacked. The rumoured phone might be called the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. This Fan Edition foldable could retain the same fun flip form factor and come with a friendlier price tag. According to a report, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE might launch with a price tag under EUR 1,000 (roughly Rs. 96,000), making it one of the most affordable foldables Samsung has ever released. Interestingly, this puts it close to the current flagship Galaxy Z Flip 6, which starts at EUR 899 (roughly Rs. 86,000). The new affordable Flip 7 FE is expected to sport a 6.7-inch LTPO Super AMOLED 2X display on the inside, running at a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The outer cover screen might be a handy 3.4 inches, just like the one on the Z Flip 6. Under the hood, Samsung may still be going with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which means the affordable Flip could still deliver flagship-level performance. That will reportedly be paired with 12GB of RAM, so performance should be plenty snappy.
For photography, Samsung could go with a 50MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide on the back, plus a 10MP selfie cam up front. All three are said to support 4K at 60fps, which is rare for a budget foldable. As for the battery, the Z Flip 7 FE might pack a 4,000mAh cell with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging, a slight bump from previous models. It might also get an IP48 rating for dust and splash resistance, making it more durable.
