We’ve been hearing whispers about Nvidia’s entry into the Windows on Arm laptop chip game for a while now. Recent rumors have also hinted that this processor will first debut on Alienware laptops. The Nvidia N1X scored a respectable 3,096 points in Geekbench 6.4’s single-core test and an impressive 18,837 points in the multi-core test. This is an early prototype and these scores might improve in the future as the chip is still in testing. The listing reveals that the CPU config will have 20 cores. The system also reportedly came with a whopping 128 GB of RAM. Alongside this N1X, Nvidia is also rumored to be working on an N1, which would likely be a toned-down version of the N1X. These leaks surely hint that Nvidia is serious about the performance of these chips and might be looking to shake up the ARM chip market.
In terms of early performance numbers, the Nvidia N1X is already demonstrating its prowess against major players like AMD and Apple. It’s reportedly competing with AMD’s new Strix Halo-based Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and locking horns with Apple’s 16-core M4 Max. Considering the N1X is still in its early stages of development, the progress of this ARM chip is highly impressive. While an official announcement is still pending, the fact that Nvidia is already testing this chip on platforms like Geekbench suggests we might soon hear some updates from the tech giant.
