Motorola is gearing up to launch a new smartphone in India, and early signs suggest it could be the Moto G96. A landing page has quietly gone live on Flipkart, hinting at some key features, including a curved display, IP rating, and a Snapdragon chipset. Here’s everything we know about the Moto G96 so far.
Motorola’s teasers showcase a sleek phone with curved edges and a dual-camera setup. This clearly suggests that the phone could be part of the G series, and the G96 seems to be the next in line. The company is also highlighting four colour options, including green, pink, and two shades of blue. From the looks of it, this could be one of the first major smartphone launches in July.
The Moto G96 is expected to feature a 6.67-inch P-OLED display with a 1.5K resolution. It will also feature a 144Hz refresh rate with support for 10-bit colours. This could make it one of the best displays in the segment, delivering vivid visuals and smooth scrolling. The back also looks like a vegan leather finish, and leaked renders suggest a premium design with a refined overall look.
Under the hood, the phone will reportedly be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. For photography, Motorola might go with a 50MP Sony LYT-700C primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide camera on the rear. On the front, it could house a 32MP selfie shooter, making it a solid setup for everyday photography.
On the battery side, it might feature a large 5,500mAh battery that should keep it running all day. It will likely come with some sort of fast charging support, though details are unknown as of now.
While Motorola hasn’t confirmed a launch date yet, the teasers give a hint that this device could launch in the month of July.
