India’s cybersecurity agency, CERT-In, has issued a serious warning for users of different Apple products. These issues are said to affect iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Vision Pro headset. news Also Read: Govt Issues Warning For Google Chrome Users In India: “Update Your Browser Or...”

Which Devices Are Affected?

CERT-In’s alert lists the following Apple software versions as vulnerable: news Also Read: Apple Event 2025: 8 Key Products To Expect On September 9

  • iOS: versions earlier than 18.6
  • iPadOS: before 17.7.9 or 18.6
  • macOS Sequoia: before 15.6
  • macOS Sonoma: before 14.7.7
  • macOS Ventura: before 13.7.7
  • watchOS: earlier than 11.6
  • tvOS: before 18.6
  • visionOS: before 2.6

This means a wide range of Apple products could be exposed to cyberattacks if they’re not running the latest updates.

What Can Happen If You Don’t Update?

CERT-In warns that these flaws in Apple products could allow hackers to steal sensitive data, run malicious code, bypass security settings, gain elevated system privileges, or disrupt services completely. The vulnerabilities are said to stem from technical issues like type confusion, buffer overflows, logic errors, race conditions, and improper input validation.

For everyday users, this means hackers could take control of your device, steal personal data like photos and passwords, slow down system performance, or render apps unusable. Organisations using Apple products could face data breaches or operational disruptions.

What Should You Do?

The cybersecurity urges Apple users to update their devices immediately. If you have an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or any other Apple product, go to your device settings and check for software updates. Install the latest version immediately to avoid any risks of malfunction or hacking. Apple has already released fixes for these issues.
