Several users took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration. One user wrote, “Bro Amazon Prime Video @PrimeVideoIN is down?!” while another posted, “@PrimeVideoIN why am I facing problem in watching video on Prime Video app on both Android and Amazon TV?”
The outage appears to be widespread, affecting not just India and the UK but also some users in other parts of the world. Many subscribers have complained that the app either fails to load or displays a “service unavailable” message while attempting to play content.
So far, Amazon hasn’t shared any official update on what caused the outage. Early reports hint that the problem could be linked to a server-side glitch that disrupted streaming across multiple regions.
The streaming service, which hosts a wide collection of movies, TV shows, and live sports, has millions of active users globally. Any downtime tends to impact millions of active users who rely on the service for entertainment.
While the platform seems to be gradually coming back online for some users, fresh complaints are still surfacing on social media. Amazon’s customer support team has said, “We’re working to fix this problem as quickly as possible,” addressing the issue.
