Vivo’s next flagship is just around the corner as the company has confirmed that the Vivo X300 series will debut in China on October 13, with two models lined up – the standard X300 and the X300 Pro. While the exact date is not revealed, however, an India launch is also expected a few weeks later, possibly in November. Just ahead of its imminent launch, Huang Tao, Vice President of Product at Vivo, has given fans the first proper glimpse of the upcoming handsets on Weibo. At first glance, both phones stick to the familiar design we saw on the X200 series, but with a few tweaks. The most noticeable change is the large circular camera island placed at the centre of the back panel. Alongside it, an LED flash is neatly positioned in the top-left corner. Colour choices differ slightly between the two models:
Vivo X300: Blue and Pink
Vivo X300 Pro: Black and Gold
Interestingly, both phones keep the power and volume buttons on the left frame, but the Pro adds an extra button on the right side.
Vivo continues its focus on imaging with the fourth-generation Zeiss setup. Based on the leaks and rumours, the Vivo X300 is tipped to get a 200MP main sensor, while the Vivo X300 Pro is also expected to get an 85mm 200MP telephoto lens with CIPA-level stabilisation in addition to the main sensor.
The Vivo X300 is tipped to be the first phone to use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, while the Pro is also expected to run on the same platform paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. Apart from these, the X300 Pro is expected to pack a massive 7000mAh battery and a new Super Sense vibration motor. A proprietary Universal Signal Amplifier chipset exclusive to the Pro.
Reports hint that pricing could start at around Rs 69,999 for the Vivo X300 and go up to Rs 99,999 for the X300 Pro. However, the Indian launch is still far and yet to be known. The China launch is much nearer than the Indian arrival, which will confirm the specifications and features at least.
