Samsung may be preparing to launch a new Galaxy F-series phone in India. The Galaxy F55 has already appeared on the websites of Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance, meaning it has received the necessary certifications for wireless connectivity. But now Samsung has gone ahead and confirmed that the phone is indeed coming soon to India, as well as Bangladesh. The support pages for the Samsung Galaxy F55 for India and Bangladesh have gone live way ahead of the launch, the date for which is unclear right now.
Spotted by folks at Sammobile, a smartphone with the model number SM-E55B/DS has cropped up on the support page of Samsung India and Samsung Bangladesh websites. While these listings do not provide any information about the upcoming Galaxy F-series phone, they do confirm the existence of the Galaxy F55, according to the report. However, the Galaxy F55’s entry on the Wi-Fi certification platform revealed there will be support for Wi-Fi 6.
Since Samsung’s Galaxy F series phones’ specifications are mostly identical to the Galaxy A series, the upcoming Galaxy F55 may share its specifications with the Galaxy A55. The latter arrived in India earlier this month with a metallic frame and upper mid-range specifications. The specifications of the Galaxy F55, thus, may include a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz; an Exynos 1480 processor with 8GB and 12GB of RAM options; and storage options of 128GB and 256GB.
The Samsung Galaxy F55 may also sport a triple camera setup on the back, comprising a 50MP main sensor with support for optical image stabilisation, a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and a 5MP macro sensor. For selfies, the phone is likely to feature a 32MP camera, but whether it will be inside a punch-hole or a waterdrop-style notch is unclear right now. The Samsung Galaxy F55 may also pack a 5000mAh battery with 25W fast wired charging.
