Apple is always known to create buzz for its iPhones before the launch. The new reports coming from the rumor mill reveal some of the best design enhancements and strikingly different feel for the rumored iPhone 17 Air or the iPhone 17 Slim. As the name suggests the iPhone 17 Air could be slimmer than the current iPhones available in the market. The flagship smartphone is expected to replace the iPhone’s Plus line-up.
To recall, the earlier reports suggested that the smartphone has entered the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase at Foxconn. The reports from supply chain sources indicated that the smartphone might have gone for mass production.
This new iteration is anticipated to significantly upgrade aesthetics and performance. The iPhone 17 Air will reportedly have a sleek 6.6-inch display and an aluminum frame, effectively replacing the current iPhone Plus model.
There are several reports emerging from Korea suggesting the launch timeline of the rumored Apple iPhone 17 series. The reports reveal that the iPhone 17 series will be unveiled in the second half of this year, maybe in September 2025. The purported handset will likely be priced similarly to the iPhone 16 Plus which is available in India at Rs 89,900.
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be the slimmest iPhone ever with 6.25mm thickness which is less in comparison to the current iPhone 16 with 7.8mm thickness. Word has it that the Cupertino-based tech giant will be in direct battle with the rumored Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim which is expected to launch in the second quarter of the year. However, the other models in the line-up including Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra are expected to be revealed on 22 January.
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be equipped with a 6.6-inch OLED display along with a narrower Dynamic Island. It might come with a 120Hz refresh rate and an Always on Display feature and is expected to be protected with an anti-reflective coating and ceramic shield.
