Oppo Reno 12 series is coming to India on July 12. In an announcement, the company highlighted the next Reno 12 series will bring generative AI features to the mid-range segment. Oppo said AI will allow the Reno 12 series cameras to enhance photos by identifying faces, removing imperfections, and maintaining natural contours, especially in selfies. The Reno 12 series will boast a new AI LinkBoost technology for less network lag and better signals in spotty locations.
“The Oppo Reno 12 5G and Reno 12 Pro 5G set new standards in design, durability, performance and AI functionality,” said Oppo.
Ahead of the launch, the company has confirmed the Reno 12 series will use a new ‘Quad-Micro Curved Infinite View’ screen. While both phones will share this display technology, their protection will be different. The Reno 12 Pro 5G will feature a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on top, while the Reno 12 5G will have a Gorilla Glass 7i shield. Both phones will sport a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate and a 93.5 percent screen-to-body ratio. They will use an IP65-rated body, made of glass and a high-strength allow framework, which includes metals such as copper, magnesium, and silicon. It will also have SGS Performance 5 Stars Multiscene Performance for low blue light emission and a flicker-free screen. The Oppo Reno 12 will come in Sunset Peach, Matte Brown, and Astro Silver colours, while the Reno 12 Pro will be available in Sunset Gold and Space Brown colours.
Powering the Reno 12 series will be an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC, which uses Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores. It will be aided by a MediaTek APU 655 for AI features, such as AI Clear Face, AI Writer, AI Recording Summary, and AI Eraser 2.0. Both phones will come with a 5000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. While the Reno 12 Pro will use a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor, a 50MP telephoto sensor, and an 8MP ultrawide sensor, the Reno 12 will replace the telephoto sensor with a 2MP macro sensor. The Pro model will feature a 50MP selfie camera, while the regular model will use a 32MP sensor in the front camera.
More details about the Reno 12 Pro and Reno 12 will be announced on the launch day.
