Oppo Reno 12, Reno 12 Pro 5G debut with Dimensity 7300-Energy chip and a slew of AI features

Oppo has announced the all-new Reno 12 series in the Indian market. The Oppo Reno 12 5G and Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G come with AI features out of the box, giving a nip-and-tuck competition to AI devices from other brands Samsung and Motorola. Some of the highlights of the series include a 120Hz 3D Curved screen, triple cameras, and a MediaTek Dimensity chipset 7300-Energy chipset.

Oppo Reno 12 Series price in India, offers, and availability

The Oppo Reno 12 series comes in the midrange segment. The Oppo Reno 12 5G is priced at Rs 32,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB variant. It will be available for purchase from July 25 in online (Flipkart) and offline markets. The Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G, on the other hand, starts at Rs 36,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB variant and Rs 40,999 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB variant. The Pro model will be available early starting July 18.

Buyers in the first sale will be eligible to get up to Rs 4,000 instant cashback/discount on select bank cards such as ICIC Bank, SBI Bank, HDFC Bank, and others. There are up to 9 months of No-Cost and Zero Downpayment EMI options in the online and offline markets, respectively. The pre-order period for the Pro model is already live on Flipkart.

The Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 5G come with a similar design and the only major difference is in the camera system and the screen. Starting with the display, the Reno 12 5G features a 6.7-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate up to 1200 nits of brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The Reno 12 Pro 5G has a quad-curved OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1200 nits of brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G

Both have a triple-rear camera system on the back with a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The Reno 12 Pro 5G comes with a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP 2x telephoto lens. The main camera on both phones has Optical Image Stabilization support. There’s up to 20x digital zoom on the Reno 12 Pro 5G. Both phones can shoot 4K videos at 30fps from the rear cameras. There’s a 32MP selfie snapper on the Reno 12 5G and a 50MP front camera on the Pro model.

Powering the series is the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy processor paired with Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. The Reno 12 has a sole 8GB of RAM and Reno 12 Pro 5G has 12GB of RAM + 256/512GB of internal storage. The duo houses a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.

Both run on Android 14 OS with ColorOS14.1 on top. Oppo has added a slew of AI features on both phones, such as the AI Eraser 2.0, AI Perfect Shot, AI Studio, AI Writer, AI Recording Sumamry, AI LinkBoost, and more. There’s also the BeaconLink Tecnology that enables one-to-one voice calls over Bluetooth in no-network environments.
