With so many leaks about Google’s next flagship already out on the internet, we already have a good idea of what to expect from the Pixel 10 series. But now, a new leak from AndroidHeadlines nearly gives away all the specifications of the device. This includes all the notable upgrades, and a few surprising downgrades. The Pixel 10 retains the 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. However, the display has received a brightness boost this year. It can now reach up to 2,000 nits in High Brightness Mode, with peak brightness hitting 3,000 nits. This is a minor improvement over last year’s devices, but it will surely make outdoor usage a breeze. Also Read: Google Pixel 10a May Disappoint Fans With Recycled Specs, Leak Suggests
Despite these upgrades, adaptive refresh rate support is still absent on the base model. Google is reserving high-speed PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) and dynamic refresh capabilities for the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL. Talking about the performance, the Pixel 10 is expected to be powered by the all-new Tensor G5 chip, manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm process. With TSMC on board, most of the heating and throttling issues seen in past models should finally be addressed. The device might come with 12GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.
However, the major drawback for the standard Pixel 10 is that it won’t be getting a vapor chamber cooling system. So even though the TSMC fabrication makes the new Tensor chip less prone to heating, the absence of proper cooling could still impact sustained performance and thermal management under heavy loads.
On the battery side, the Pixel 10 gets a small upgrade to a 4,970mAh cell. It also receives a slight bump in charging speed, now expected to support 29W wired charging. On the other hand, wireless charging remains restricted to 15W, but now uses the newer Qi2 standard.
A major downgrade that might happen is in the camera department, as the Pixel 10 is reportedly going to use a smaller sensor. This could affect the overall photo output of the photos. The ultrawide camera also takes a hit, dropping from 48MP to just 12MP.
On the flip side, Google is adding a new 10.8MP 5x telephoto lens, which makes the setup more versatile. Additionally, advanced features like Ultra Res Zoom and ultra-stable video recording will remain exclusive to the Pro models.
