Apple is prepping up to unveil its next generation iPhones in the coming weeks and leaks have already given us a heads-up on what to expect. While the launch date is still under wraps, a new leak has suggested a potential date for Apple’s next big event. The iPhone 17 lineup is rumoured to include four devices – the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. A German publication, iPhone-ticker.de, has claimed that the iPhone 17 series will be unveiled on September 9. If the leak is true, then Apple might initiate the pre-orders for the lineup from September 12 (Friday). The sale and shipments could start a week later. This new leak is in line with other reports suggesting that Apple may unveil the iPhone 17 series in the second week of September. This is the company’s usual launch cycle for its flagship smartphones. Moreover, reliable journalist Mark Gurman had also previously suggested a launch event between September 8 and September 12. To recall, the iPhone 16 series was launched during Apple’s “It’s Glowtime” event on September 9 last year. The iPhone 15 lineup, on the other hand, was announced at the “Wonderlust” event on September 12, 2023.
Like every other iPhone launch event, the Cupertino-based tech giant will unveil the new Apple Watch models and AirPods Pro alongside the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup.
The standard iPhone 17 is expected to feature a bigger 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED panel, giving it the same screen size as the Pro model. The new slimmer iPhone 17 Air is said to feature a 6.5-inch display, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max will retain the 6.9-inch panel. In terms of power, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air are said to pack Apple’s next-gen A19 chipsets. The Pro and Pro Max models will get an A19 Pro chip.
