Microsoft has kicked off pre-orders in India for its new Surface Pro 12-inch, a lightweight 2-in-1 device that joins the Copilot+ PC lineup introduced earlier this year. Positioned as a productivity-first machine, the Surface Pro 12-inch weighs just 686 grams and brings Microsoft’s familiar design language – a 165-degree full-friction kickstand and detachable Surface Keyboard – allowing users to switch seamlessly between tablet and laptop modes. Microsoft Surface Pro 12” Display and Design

The device features a 12-inch PixelSense LCD touchscreen with a 2,196 x 1,464 resolution at 220 PPI. Microsoft has stuck to its signature 3:2 aspect ratio. The panel supports a 90Hz refresh rate (default 60Hz), 400 nits peak brightness in SDR, and a 1200:1 contrast ratio. The new Surface Pro 12” comes with sRGB colour coverage and enhanced profiles, colour calibration, adaptive contrast, and 10-point multi-touch. Under the hood, the Surface Pro 12-inch is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus 8-core processor paired with an Adreno GPU and Hexagon NPU capable of 45 TOPS for AI workloads. It comes with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB UFS storage. Microsoft claims up to 16 hours of local video playback and 12 hours of web usage. The device measures 274 x 190 x 7.8 mm, keeping it slim and portable.

The Surface Pro 12-inch carries Microsoft Pluton TPM 2.0 and runs Windows 11 with secured-core PC features. For login, there’s Windows Hello Face Authentication. On the multimedia front, it includes a 1080p Surface Studio front camera with Windows Studio Effects and a 10MP Ultra HD rear shooter. Audio is handled by 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and dual studio mics for clearer voice capture.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 with LE Audio, and two USB-C ports (USB 3.2, DisplayPort 1.4a, and charging). It supports docking with dual 4K displays at 60Hz and fast charging via Surface Connect or USB-C. Accessories include compatibility with the Surface Slim Pen 2 with haptics, plus support for the Surface Adaptive Kit and adaptive accessories.

Pre-orders run until October 5, 2025, across Amazon, Croma, and Vijay Sales. The 16GB + 256GB variant gets an MRP of Rs 90,999, while the 16GB + 512GB model costs Rs 99,999. As a launch offer, customers will receive a free Surface Pro Keyboard worth Rs 15,199.
