X uses all public tweets and interactions done with Grok to train the AI chatbot. However, you can stop it from doing so. “All X users have the ability to control whether their public posts can be used to train Grok, the AI search assistant. This option is in addition to your existing controls over whether your interactions, inputs, and results related to Grok can be utilized. While you can stop Grok from using your tweets, the setting to do that is available only on the web for now. However, it should be available on Mobile soon, as per X.

Here’s how to stop Grok from using your tweets for training

Step 1: To stop Grok from using your public tweets and interaction with it, you need to head to Settings on the web.

Step 2: Tap on Privacy & Safety.

Step 3: Select Grok.

Step 4: You should see “Delete Conversation History.”

Step 5: Confirm to “Delete your interactions, inputs, and results”

Do note that only public tweets are used for the training process and not those of private accounts. That said, if you want to be extra safe, you can keep your account private. Follow the steps below to make your account private to protect your tweets.

Make your account private

Step 1: Head to Settings.

Step 2: Select “Privacy & Safety.”

Step 3: Select Audience and tagging.

Step 4: Check the box next to “Protect your posts.”
