Yakuza Wars mobile game could get announced in Tokyo Game Show 2024

Like a Dragon, Yakuza is one of the most loved games and the franchise has dropped multiple wonders in the meantime. Now, the franchise is all set to drop a smartphone game, Yakuza Wars, that will be focused on the strategic theme. The description shared by Sega suggested that the game would be the brand’s first authorized smartphone game.

It is going to revolve around gangster-themed strategy which will have a truckload of gang war-like scenarios. The game will let the players fight alongside some of the most legendary characters from the Like A Dragon franchise like Majima Goro, Kasuga Ichiban, and Kiryu Kazuma. The game is your ticket to experiencing gang wars and the underworld.

This comes as no surprise because a lot of franchises have launched mobile versions of popular console and PC titles like EA FC 24, Mortal Kombat, Call of Duty, and a lot more to mention here. The main reason behind the same is that the smartphone gaming market is the source of 90% of revenue generation in the gaming industry.

The fans of the franchise had a very mixed kind of reaction to the news. And why not, in the past, a lot of gaming franchises made average-level smartphone games just to make a mark in the industry which were not even liked by the fans. However, there are some exceptions like Call of Duty Mobile as the game has ruled the battle royale genre and even dethroned the biggest game like PUBG Mobile in overall popularity.
