Indian indie studio Aeos Games has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming soulslike title Unleash the Avatar. Inspired by Indian mythology, the game is shaping up to be a visually stunning, challenging action RPG that blends cultural themes with punishing combat mechanics – much like the genre’s global hits. The latest trailer offers an in-depth look at Unleash the Avatar’s gameplay. It gives us a glimpse of the fictional coastal town of Vishwapur – now overrun by monstrous Nisthari Rakshas. Players are seen battling these creatures using a mix of melee and ranged attacks, parries, dodges, and chakra-based projectiles. The video also teases a new transformation ability called the “Feather Prism Form,” allowing for fresh combat strategies. Compared to the earlier teaser, the new footage highlights notable upgrades – improved visuals, smoother character animations, and better environmental detailing. It also features snippets of voice acting that hint at the game’s story depth and mythological tone.
Aeos Games’ CEO and co-founder Rohan Mayya shared insights about the project’s development, saying the team drew inspiration from classic soulslike experiences but built everything from scratch. “Our team has painstakingly built up everything from first principles,” he said. “From in-house photogrammetry to full-body motion capture and custom enemy AI, every single bit of Unleash the Avatar has been hand-crafted.”
While Unleash the Avatar doesn’t have a confirmed release date, Aeos Games has announced that the title is scheduled to launch on PC in 2026. The game’s Steam page is already live for wishlisting, although not publicly listed yet. Details about console releases – including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or handheld versions – remain under wraps for now.
