After almost 9 years of Witcher 3’s release, there is some official good news for the fans. CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Witcher 4 is soon going to enter the full production phase. The game was confirmed almost three years ago but after that, there was no substantial update on the same. CD Projekt Red CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said that the Polaris Project (The Witcher 4) is progressing they are soon going to end the pre-production phase and transition to full production.
In a report published by PlayStation LifeStyle, it has been suggested that the game will launch for next-gen consoles. So one thing that we can say at this point in time is that the game will not make its debut anytime soon. Moreover, CD Projekt Red fans will not even want the franchise to rush the same way they did in the case of Cyberpunk 2077.
In the fourth installment, the Geralt of Rivia will play a crucial role but the story will not revolve around him. Speculations are that the main story of the game will be focused on Ciri as we saw that she proved herself in the third part. Furthermore, after becoming a witcher, she follows a path identical to that of Geralt so there is a lot of story ahead of us and the developers to comprehend.
Moreover, the franchise also released a teaser image previously that hints at Ciri being the next lead of the series. As for the teaser image, it shows the medallion of a lynx. Now, this particular witcher school has not been mentioned anywhere in the resource material but Ciri once wore the medallion of ‘School of the Cat’ in the books and the ideologies of the same align with the character’s fighting style. Until now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the lead character of the game, so users are advised to take the information with a grain of salt.
