Samsung has been eyeing to make an impact in the gaming market for a long time now. In a recent development, 91Mobiles has revealed that the Samsung gaming handheld patent is available on the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Samsung Gaming Handheld details

The patent’s description says, ‘ornamental design for a remote controller’. The sketches of the device can be seen in the images shared by the publication.

According to the images, the handheld could have a vertical folding display. The basic concept of the device could be having a rectangular screen that folds in half.

Additionally, it will also increase the portability of the handhelds. Current generation games are designed to be compatible with landscape or horizontal mode. However, it has left us wondering if the folded display of the console will have a use case or not.

The console can be seen carrying side grips that are split into two halves on both sides as we have seen in the PlayStation Portal’s case. Now, it is not confirmed if the controllers will be detachable or not. Apart from that, the users can also see identical D-pads, air triggers, and face buttons. There are chances that we will get to see a speaker grille above and below the display of the handheld. And the USB Type-C port can be seen at the bottom. The port will most probably serve two functions – charging and connecting headphones.

All the above-mentioned information is based on the assumptions related to the patent. Nothing has been confirmed at this point in time officially and we don’t know what will be the launch timeline if the product ever sees the light. That being said, all the readers are suggested to take the information with a truck load of salt.
