Sony’s latest State of Play Japan event brought a long list of new announcements, gameplay reveals, and updates for upcoming PlayStation games. The November showcase featured titles from both major Japanese studios and indie developers, with several confirmed release dates, new betas, and DLCs lined up for early 2026. Next came updates from the BrokenLore anthology. BrokenLore: Unfollow, a single-player psychological horror centred on social media, launches on January 16, 2026, while BrokenLore: Ascend was revealed as a new Tokyo-set survival horror title featuring climbing mechanics. Coffee Talk Tokyo, a spin-off of the popular narrative series, will arrive on March 5, 2026, on PS5. Players will once again serve as a café barista, listening to stories from humans and yokai descendants in a cozy Tokyo setting.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined got a new trailer and will release on February 5, 2026, introducing a new story chapter featuring an older Keifa. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake also appeared with a March 12 release date. The full remake revisits the 2003 classic with upgraded visuals and mechanics.
Meanwhile, Kyouran Makaism, a new 3D action RPG from the team behind Disgaea, launches on January 29, 2026, letting players turn defeated enemies into Familiars to use in battle.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls announced its next Closed Beta for December 5, 2025, adding Spider-Man and Ghost Rider to the playable roster. Damon & Baby, an action adventure about a cursed demon lord and a child, is coming to PS5 and PS4 in early 2026.
Other notable highlights include inKonbini: One Store. Many Stories (April 2026), a slice-of-life game about running a convenience store, and MotionRec, a puzzle action title arriving in Spring 2026.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer returns to PlayStation after two decades, launching on February 26, 2026, for PS5 with over 400 rivals and 180 km of Tokyo highways. Octopath Traveler 0 will launch on December 4, with a demo available now.
DLC announcements included expansions for Elden Ring Nightreign, Monster Hunter Wilds, Gran Turismo 7, and Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, among others.
