ChatGPT Down For Thousands Of Users! Sora Impacted Too, OpenAI Confirms

ChatGPT Down: OpenAI’s AI chatbot ChatGPT is facing an outage in several countries, including India. Thousands of users have faced issues while accessing ChatGPT starting around 2:00 PM IST. As per the outage detecting platform Downdetector, the ChatGPT outage peaked around 3:00 PM IST with over 700 reports, while many are still facing the issues. As per the reported problems by Downdetector, the majority of the cases are related to the ChatGPT web, while 8 percent of users are facing issues with the app. Apart from India, several users in US and UK have also experienced the issues. OpenAI Reacts: What is affected?

OpenAI has confirmed on its Status update page that ChatGPT is facing issues with web, Mobile for iOS and Android, as well as WhatsApp. The rest of the features of ChatGPT, such as Search, Advanced Data Analysis, Context Connectors, Dall-E – the image generation tool, voice mode, Memory of the ChatGPT, and file uploading, have also been facing issues. The text-to-video generation tool by OpenAI, Sora, has also been impacted during the same time. OpenAI has confirmed that users are unable to log in and hence facing issues in video generation, video viewing, Feed checking and image generation.

ChatGPT Outage: When will it be fixed?

While some users may be able to access a few services, there are several users who are still facing issues. Users have taken the frustration over the X (formerly Twitter) as many paid users have also experienced the same. “Some users are experiencing elevated error rates and latency across the listed services. We are continuing to investigate this issue,” OpenAI confirmed in the Status report.
