WhatsApp keeps adding new features to its platform to enhance the user experience. Now, the meta-owned platform is taking communication to the next level with its new language translation feature. This will allow users to seamlessly connect across all languages. WhatsApp understands that with over three billion users worldwide, the language barrier can sometimes limit interaction, and hence, the instant messaging platform added a new feature of Translate Messages, that will make conversations smoother and more inclusive.
Using the translation feature is simple, and WhatsApp has designed it to fit naturally into your chat experience. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how it works:
Step 1: The first step is to enable the translation message feature is to open a chat, group, or Channel where you’ve received a message in a different language.
Step 2: Now, you need to long-press the message you want to translate.
Step 3: Tap on the ‘Translate’ option that appears on your screen.
Step 4: The next step is to select the language you want to translate from or to.
Step 5: As soon as you select the language, the translated message will appear instantly.
Step 6: You can now save it for future translations.
Step 7: The last step is only for Android users. You can optionally enable automatic translation for the entire chat thread. With the help of this feature, all future incoming messages are translated automatically.
The company has emphasized that privacy will always remain a top priority for WhatsApp, meaning all translations that occur on your device will not be accessed by WhatsApp. This ensures your conversations remain private and secure.
WhatsApp is gradually rolling out the Translation Message feature for both Android and iOS users. For Android users, the translation messages feature will be available in six languages, including English, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic.
However, for iOS users, things will be a bit special as they will be able to access more than 19 languages at launch. WhatsApp plans to expand language support over time, making this tool even more versatile for global users.
WhatsApp is helping people to communicate effortlessly by introducing the translation message feature. This will break language barriers, and people will be able to connect meaningfully. Whether you want to keep in touch with your family, collaborate with friends, or engage with communities, the translation message feature will make you understand and respond in real time, regardless of language differences.
