WhatsApp keeps bringing new features to improve communication. Now, the meta-owned instant messaging platform has rolled out a new feature for the beta version that lets the users indulge in hands-free verbal conversations with Meta AI. The feature first saw the light in the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.16.10.70. Currently, the same has been launched for the Android beta version 2.24.17.16.
The Voice Chat Mode will allow users to have a seamless conversation with Meta AI. What’s more, is that this feature also gives users the ability to choose a voice in which they need the response from Meta AI. The voice can be relaxing, energetic, or something that strikes a balance between the two. You can choose from a total number of 10 voices to fit the way you want to interact with the Meta AI so that the tone feels engaging and natural to you.
The feature is going to help WhatsApp users who have any kind of difficulty in hearing. Another major highlight regarding the same is that the feature is under development and is currently only being tested on the beta versions of the application.
WhatsApp Meta AI voice mode is not available for all the beta version users of the application. The screenshots unveiled by the feature tracker show that the audio waveform can be seen next to the Meta AI chat’s text field.
As soon as you tap on it, a sheet opens up with Meta AI written on top. You can see a circular shaped bubble collection at the middle. At the bottom of the screen, you can see an expanded audio waveform with the test, “Hi, how can I help” meaning that the AI is ready to deliver responses based on your queries.
As of now, the feature is only being tested vigorously and there is no update from the WhatsApp officials regarding the launch of the same. Speculations are that if the feature passes all the tests, then we will soon get to see it in the stable version of WhatsApp.
