WhatsApp is rolling out a new look for its app on iOS. The popular messaging platform has adopted the iOS 26-inspired interface on iPhones. The new update is reportedly being pushed out to select users, who can now experience the Liquid Glass design language in WhatsApp too. Notably, Apple introduced the new user interface with its latest iOS 26 update alongside the iPhone 17 series launch last month. Several users have started experiencing noticeable changes WhatsApp’s latest version, offering translucent layers and a more fluid look overall. The new update has also introduced a floating tab bar above the chat list, bringing a modern look to the interface. Also Read: 6 Best Premium Tablets For Office Work: Which One You Should Buy
Feature tracker WABetaInfo first spotted the design changes, mentioning that the new look is currently visible to select WhatsApp users on iOS. The official App Store changelog doesn’t mention it, but the update (version 25.28.75) seems to be part of a phased rollout – likely to gather feedback before a wider release.
The refreshed interface works well in both light and dark themes, with WhatsApp automatically adjusting transparency and depth effects based on the mode you’re using. It also adopts the redesigned iOS 26 keyboard, making it blend more naturally with Apple’s latest software aesthetic.
WhatsApp has been steadily improving its iOS app in recent weeks. Support for Live Photos and on-device message translation was rolled out earlier, while Android users recently got Motion Photos and new chat themes. Meta has also been experimenting with small but meaningful additions like custom video call backgrounds, new sticker packs, and even a Status Questions feature currently in beta.
The new Liquid Glass design brings a cleaner, more polished look to WhatsApp – and if you haven’t received it yet, you might want to keep an eye out. The update seems to be rolling out gradually to iOS users around the world.
