The wait for the GTA 6 fans turns out to be another nightmare as the launch date is pushed to November 2026! Yes, we know this is an old and famous series of memes, but here again, this proves to be true. The latest update about WhatsApp seems that it will get third-party apps to communicate. It simply means, as soon as this third-party app support rolls out, people outside WhatsApp will be able to message you without additional tools. news Also Read: GTA 6 Release Delayed Yet Again, Here’s When You’ll Finally Get To Play It

However, it seems to have some limitations. Here is everything that you should know about the third-party chat support on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp Third-Party Apps Support

As per a report shared by WabetaInfo, some users (with WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.32.10.72 update) can enable the third-party chats feature to contact people from other messaging apps. You will simply need to go to the Account settings and choose the Third-Party Chats. The report suggests that the feature is currently applicable for one-on-one chats; however, the future update may bring it to group chats too.

It further suggested that the third-party chat support on WhatsApp in the beta version allows users to communicate via text, photos, videos, voice and documents. Not only that, users will be able to choose whether they want to have a combined inbox for all the chats or a separate one for the third-party chats.

But there are some features that are missing for now. These are especially the native features of WhatsApp, such as Status updates, stickers and the disappearing messages.

WhatsApp Third-Party Chats: How Does It Work?

According to WABetaInfo, the new third-party chats feature will let you message people on other compatible messaging apps – directly from WhatsApp. In short, you won’t need to switch between apps to reply to someone who doesn’t use WhatsApp.

However, there’s a small catch. These third-party apps might follow different security standards, which means users should review their privacy policies before enabling the feature. WhatsApp confirms that only your phone number will be shared for identification purposes – no other personal data will be visible to external apps.

Interestingly, blocked users on WhatsApp might still reach you via third-party platforms. That’s because blocking applies only inside WhatsApp’s ecosystem. Even so, the company reassures that end-to-end encryption remains intact, and Meta won’t be able to access your chats or shared content.
