Netflix is taking a big step beyond movies and shows – it’s now letting subscribers play video games directly on their smart TVs. The streaming giant has quietly rolled out the feature, giving users access to a growing library of casual titles like Pictionary: Game Night, Boggle Party, Lego Party!, Tetris Time Warp, and Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends. The feature has been in development since early 2023. Until now, Netflix Games were available only on mobile devices, but the company is now expanding the experience to the big screen. Instead of traditional controllers, players can use their smartphones as game controllers, thanks to Netflix’s Game Controller app. Also Read: Red Dead Redemption Coming To iOS, Android, Netflix, And Consoles: Check Date Here
Here’s how it works: users can head to the Games tab on their Netflix smart TV app, pick a title, and connect their phone to play. The setup supports multiple players, making it perfect for families and group sessions. Games like Boggle Party allow up to eight players, where everyone competes to find words in a grid of letters. Lego Party! includes themed mini-games and treasure hunts, while Pictionary: Game Night brings the classic drawing-and-guessing format to living rooms. Tetris Time Warp brings a nostalgic twist to the mix, letting players “travel through time” and experience different eras of the classic puzzle game. On the other hand, Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends takes a more social route, turning bluffing and quick thinking into a hilarious guessing game where players must figure out who’s pretending.
Netflix’s move into TV gaming is part of its broader effort to make entertainment more interactive. The company has been testing the feature for nearly four years, slowly expanding from mobile titles to something bigger. Its Game Controller app, first introduced for iOS back in 2023, was an early step in that direction – turning your phone into a handy game controller for the TV.
