The year-end is not far away, and the best apps of 2025 by Google have been announced. Well, this is nothing unusual as the tech giant usually announces the best or the top downloaded apps every year. This year’s Best App title goes to Focus Friend, created by Hank Green. It is a minimal, calming app designed to help people disconnect from distractions and stay focused – something we all need in 2025.
Luminar: Photo Editor won the Best Multi-device App award. With AI-powered photo editing tools that work across phones, tablets, and PCs, the app impressed Google with how smooth and creative the experience feels across devices.
Google also announced winners across multiple categories, each designed to highlight a different side of daily life:
Apart from the best apps on Google Play Store, Google has also shared its favourite books across fiction and nonfiction. From thrillers to memoirs, fantasy to young adult picks, the list covers a wide range of genres.
Taking the top spot is Pokémon TCG Pocket. Google praised it for recreating the excitement of the classic Pokémon Trading Card Game – from opening booster packs to collecting beautifully designed cards. It brings a familiar nostalgia but with a modern digital twist. Apart from this, the title of Best Multi-device Game goes to Disney Speedstorm.
