Starting with the Vitals app. Apple has upgraded the sleep tracking experience with the Vitals app which measures important health metrics during sleep such as heart rate, respiratory rate, wrist temperature, sleep duration, and blood oxygen. When two or more metrics are out of a user’s range, users will receive a notification and a message that shows how this change may be linked to aspects of life like alcohol consumption or illness.

Training Load

Training Load is a feature for users to measure how the intensity of their workouts may impact their bodies over time. This includes strain on their body from workouts for seven days or more. This feature will help users determine whether they should continue with a specific workout for days and at what level – easy, moderate, hard, etc.

Pregnancy features

Users who log a pregnancy in the Health app on iPhone or iPad will get a gestational age on their Apple Watch, allowing them to log symptoms for things they frequently experienced during pregnancy. The feature will also prompt them to review their heart rate notification threshold since heart rate usually increases during pregnancy.

Pause Activity rings

Other these these major health-related updates, watchOS 11 also brings some customization options. Activity Rings in the Fitness app can now be paused for a day, week, or month if you plan to take a rest or a day off. Pausing an Activity Ring will ensure that your award streak isn’t affected.

Smart Stack, Photos app customization

The Smart Stack, which was first introduced in watchOS 10, now supports more apps and actions in watchOS 11. You can now see your Uber’s ETA, Yoga streaks, and even translate right from the Smaart Stack as the Translate app is now available on Apple Watch with watchOS 11.

Other than this, there’s a new Photos watch face in watchOS 11 that helps you select the best photo to set as a watch face. It then gives several new styles to choose from. Apart from this, watchOS 11 also brings other features like summarized notifications forwarded from iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max to Apple Watch. The Tap to Cash feature is also present in watchOS 11.
