Oakley is bringing its AI-powered Meta HSTN smart glasses to India on December 1, marking the brand’s entry into performance-driven AI eyewear for athletes and fitness-focused users. Priced at Rs 41,800, the glasses are now available for pre-sale on Sunglass Hut, with retail availability beginning December 1 across Sunglass Hut stores and leading optical retailers nationwide. The Oakley Meta HSTN is built around active use, offering a mix of comfort, durability, and AI assistance. The glasses come with a fully integrated camera for hands-free shooting, open-ear speakers, and IPX4 splash resistance to handle outdoor workouts or training sessions. Users get up to 8 hours of battery life, along with 19 hours on standby. The bundled charging case adds up to 48 hours of backup power. For creators and athletes, the glasses support high-resolution 3K video capture. Meta’s built-in AI assistant is integrated directly into the eyewear, offering quick information and performance insights. Users can ask for surf conditions, weather updates, or even wind analysis before a golf swing. The HSTN can respond instantly with “Hey Meta” voice activation, making it useful during fast-paced activity. Meta AI on the HSTN also supports full interaction in Hindi. Users can switch the device language via the Meta AI app and access hands-free assistance in Hindi for tasks like content capture, media controls, calls, and general queries. The feature is powered by Sarvam’s language tools and is designed to make AI eyewear more accessible to Indian users.
Meta AI is also adding Celebrity AI Voice options. Indian users will be able to hear responses in familiar voices, with Deepika Padukone among the first available AI voices in English. More global celebrity voices will be added over time.
Meta is additionally testing UPI Lite payments on the glasses. Users will be able to look at a QR code and say “Hey Meta, scan and pay” to complete a transaction through their WhatsApp-linked bank account.
Oakley Meta HSTN will be available in six frame and lens combinations, all supporting prescription lenses – including Warm Grey with PRIZM Ruby, Black with PRIZM Polar Black, Brown Smoke with PRIZM Polar Deep Water, Black with Transitions Amethyst Lenses, Clear with Transitions Grey Lenses, and Black with Clear Lenses.
