Nothing Ear, Nothing Ear (a) will launch on April 18 in India: Check features

A year after launching the Nothing Ear (2), the London-based tech brand has confirmed the launch of new wearable devices. The Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) will launch this month, probably succeeding the existing Ear (2). However, the full specifications and features of the earbuds are under wraps for now.

Nothing will launch two earbuds this month

Nothing will take the wrap off the Nothing Ear and Ear (a) on April 18 in India and global markets. This time around, the company is back with a new naming scheme. So far we have seen two numbered versions of the earbuds such as the – Nothing Ear (1) and Nothing Ear (2). Nothing also launched the Ear (stick).

It’s unclear how the brand will place the upcoming Ear and Ear (a) earbuds. The latter will be the first alphabetical version, which means we may see (b) as its successor. By looks, it seems the Ear will be the successor to the Ear (2), and (a), as it suggests could be an affordable version of the earbuds, just like Nothing Phone 2a. That said, the ‘a’ branding is going beyond smartphones.

As for the features, Nothing has revealed that the Ear will boast a ceramic driver, offering an improved audio experience. Further, it will have support for Active Noise Cancellation of up to 45dB. This is five dB more than the existing Ear (2).

Other than this, there’s nothing that we know about the upcoming earbuds. The promotional image shared by the brand revealed nothing significant. It affirms the same transparent-looking design.

Since we do not have much material to discuss, we are left with anticipation until mid-April. It remains to be seen if Nothing’s Ear offers a punch over the other existing TWS earbuds, including the Apple AirPods Pro. That’s because, surprisingly enough, most Nothing Ear (1)/Ear (2) adopters are Apple iPhone users. So, Nothing better brings an overall better wearable and not just an incremental update.

Regarding the Ear (a), we do not expect much since it will be an affordable TWS earbuds, which means, Nothing may recycle its existing TWS formula.

In other news about Nothing, the company is also gearing up for the release of Nothing Phone (2) successor. Possibly called the Phone (3), the device may launch in the next couple of months in the upper mid-range segment. As per a recent leak, the device may come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen chipset.
