Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a new Silver Jubilee prepaid plan for its mobile users, offering extra benefits at a nominal cost. The new plan celebrates the company’s long presence in the telecom sector and follows the recently introduced Silver Jubilee FTTH broadband plan. According to BSNL, the Silver Jubilee prepaid plan is priced at Rs 225 and comes with a validity of 30 days. Customers will get 2.5GB of 4G data per day, along with unlimited local and STD voice calls and 100 SMS per day. Once the daily data limit is reached, the internet speed will drop to 40kbps under the fair usage policy. Existing BSNL users can recharge through the BSNL website or the Self Care app. New customers can activate the plan by visiting a BSNL retailer or Common Services Centre (CSC). The telecom operator recently launched a Silver Jubilee FTTH plan for broadband users as well. Priced at Rs 625 per month, it offers 2500GB of high-speed data at up to 70Mbps, along with entertainment benefits. Subscribers will also get access to over 600 live TV channels, including 127 premium ones, along with complimentary access to Disney+ Hotstar and SonyLIV for added entertainment.
In recent months, BSNL has rolled out several new plans and offers to attract more users and recover its lost base. According to the latest data from TRAI, the state-run telecom operator lost about 0.2 million total subscribers in April, along with a drop of 1.8 million active users during the same period. The company is counting on new plans like the Silver Jubilee prepaid and FTTH offers to help bring more customers back in the coming months.
